Who is listed
The directory lists individual mental health practitioners in Calgary who hold a qualifying professional registration, such as psychologists, counselling therapists and social workers. Each listing starts from publicly available professional information, including registration and practice details. We list people, not clinics.
How listings are ordered
Premium members are listed first. Premium is a paid plan for practitioners, so its position at the top of a list is paid placement.
After Premium members, listings with more details filled in (specialties, session format, fees and location) come before listings that show only a name and credential. On specialty, neighbourhood and credential pages, the order within each group is shuffled from time to time, so the same people are not always at the top.
The filters you choose, such as specialty, session format, fees or availability, narrow the list. They do not change these ordering rules.
Free and Premium listings
Free listings show a practitioner’s name, credential, clinic and location, plus specialties and fees where we have them. Practitioners can claim their free listing to correct and update it.
Premium listings add a photo, a bio in the practitioner’s own words and an inquiry form, and are listed first. Premium members pay a monthly or annual fee. That fee does not buy a review, a rating or a recommendation from us.
A Verified badge means the practitioner has claimed their listing and we have confirmed their professional registration. It confirms who they are and that they are registered. It is not an endorsement, and it appears on free and Premium listings alike.
How Fit Quiz matches are chosen
When you take the Fit Quiz, we read your answers and choose up to three practitioners whose specialties, session format, location and fees fit what you told us. Matches are chosen on fit, from the whole directory, not by plan.
Only Premium members receive your details, and only with your consent. They contact you directly, usually within 24 hours. A practitioner on a free listing who was a good fit may be told that a client with similar needs was matched to them, but never your name, contact details or anything you wrote.
How TherapyFit is paid
TherapyFit is paid by practitioners who choose Premium. Clients never pay us, and we take no share of what you pay your therapist.
Claim, correct or remove a listing
Practitioners can claim their listing for free to correct their details. To have a listing corrected or removed, email privacy@therapyfit.ca. We act on removal requests within 48 hours.
