Terms of Service

TherapyFit.ca is a mental health practitioner directory that connects individuals seeking mental health support (“Clients”) with licensed and registered practitioners (“Practitioners”) in Alberta, Canada.

TherapyFit.ca is a directory and referral service only. We do not provide mental health services, medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment. We are not a regulated health authority. The decision to engage any practitioner listed on this site rests entirely with the Client.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency, please contact your local emergency services (911), the Alberta Mental Health Help Line (1-877-303-2642), or Crisis Services Canada (1-833-456-4566).

Unclaimed listings

TherapyFit.ca populates its directory with publicly available professional information sourced from regulated body registries and professional directories. These listings are created without direct input from the practitioner. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee that unclaimed listings reflect a practitioner’s current credentials, availability, or practice details.

Practitioners may request removal or correction of an unclaimed listing at any time by emailing privacy@therapyfit.ca. Requests are actioned within 48 hours.

Claimed listings (Free Tier)

Practitioners who claim a listing verify their identity via email authentication and take responsibility for the accuracy of the information displayed on their profile. TherapyFit.ca does not independently verify claimed credentials unless a Premium listing subscription is active.

Premium listings (Tier 1 — Paid Subscription)

Practitioners who subscribe to a Premium listing agree to maintain accurate, current, and lawful profile information. By creating a Premium listing, you represent and warrant that:

• You hold a valid, current registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory body
• All information on your profile is accurate and not misleading
• You will respond to client inquiries received through TherapyFit.ca in a timely manner
• You will update your profile promptly if your credentials, availability, or practice details change

TherapyFit.ca reserves the right to remove or suspend any listing that contains inaccurate, misleading, or unlawful information, at our sole discretion.

Premium listing subscriptions are offered on a monthly or annual basis. Current pricing is listed at therapyfit.ca/for-practitioners.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance, on the day you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize TherapyFit.ca to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Founding rate

Practitioners who subscribe during the founding period are eligible for a discounted rate (“Founding Rate”). The Founding Rate is locked in permanently for as long as the subscription remains active. It does not convert to the standard rate after any time period. If a founding member cancels and later resubscribes, the standard rate applies. The founding cohort is limited to 15 practitioners.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your practitioner dashboard or by emailing hello@therapyfit.ca. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel, your profile reverts to a free claimed listing — you retain dashboard access and control over your profile, but Premium features (priority placement, inquiry notifications) are removed.

The inquiry form on practitioner profile pages transmits your message directly to the practitioner’s email address on file. TherapyFit.ca stores inquiries in a secure database to display in the practitioner’s dashboard.

TherapyFit.ca does not guarantee that practitioners will respond to inquiries. Response time, availability, and suitability are the sole responsibility of the practitioner. We encourage Clients to contact multiple practitioners.

By submitting an inquiry, you consent to TherapyFit.ca transmitting your name, email address, message, and session format preference to the practitioner you are contacting.

You agree not to use TherapyFit.ca to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Harass, abuse, or contact practitioners for purposes unrelated to seeking mental health services
• Scrape, copy, or republish directory data for commercial purposes without express written consent
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform
• Impersonate a practitioner, patient, or TherapyFit.ca employee
• Violate any applicable law, including Alberta’s health privacy legislation

TherapyFit.ca reserves the right to terminate access for any user who violates these Terms.

The TherapyFit.ca name, logo, design, and proprietary content are owned by TherapyFit.ca and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without express written permission.

Practitioner profile content submitted directly (bios, photos, specialties) remains the intellectual property of the practitioner. By submitting this content, you grant TherapyFit.ca a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the platform for the duration of your listing.

Your use of TherapyFit.ca is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Nothing on TherapyFit.ca constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Practitioner profiles, specialty listings, and matching results are informational only. TherapyFit.ca does not endorse any specific practitioner and does not guarantee therapeutic outcomes.

The “fit” between a client and a practitioner is a clinical judgement that must be made by the client and practitioner themselves. TherapyFit.ca facilitates discovery — it does not determine fit.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THERAPYFIT.CA EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any practitioner listing, including unclaimed profiles sourced from third-party registries.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TherapyFit.ca, its operators, employees, and agents are not liable for:

• The quality, safety, or outcomes of any mental health services provided by practitioners listed on the platform
• Inaccuracies in unclaimed practitioner listings sourced from public registries
• Loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of the Service
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of TherapyFit.ca

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to TherapyFit.ca in the three months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TherapyFit.ca and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) any information you submit to or display on TherapyFit.ca, including practitioner profile content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) any claim by a third party arising from your professional services, credentials, or conduct.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TherapyFit.ca with respect to the Service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.

No waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
